Prevention tips

 

1. Smoke alarm look after your life at all time.

2. Replace the battery of your smoke alarm twice a year.

3. Install a smoke alarm on each floor of your home near the bedrooms.

4. A smoke alarm lasts a maximum of 10 years.

5. Have your chimney cleaned at least once a year.

6. Make sure that your exits are clear and unobstructed so that you are able to get out fast.

7. Prepare an evacuation plan with your family so that you are prepared to react quickly in case of an emergency

8. Do not smoke in bed.

9. Do not store propane tanks inside a building at all time.

10. Purchase an ABC Fire Extinguisher and install it near an exit.

11. Make sure your civic address is visible from the road at all time.

12. Do not leave burning candles unattended.

13. Turn off your Christmas tree if you leave your home and turn it off when you go to bed.
