• Oct 2nd – Medical call

At 1100hrs, Rescue 502 responded with 6 FF to a house for a carbon monoxide call. Co readings were taken throughout the house and nothing was found. R502 was back in service shortly after.

• Oct 9th – Fire call(Residential fire alarm)
On thanksgiving night, Engine 202 got called out for an alarm. The alarm was caused by candles burning on a birthday cake.
• Oct 9th – Fire call(Gas leak)
About an hour after, we received a call for a car leaking gas at a gas station. This call was just out of our district. The engine and rescue responded and stabilized the scene before transferring command to St-Lazare fire. The rescue had to respond to many locations in our district to clean up spills because the vehicle had made multiple stops before arriving at the gas station.

• Oct 9th – Fire call(Vehicle in the water)
Later that night, all vehicles responded to a reported van in the water with possible people inside. Rescue 502 arrived first and chief 102 took command. The van had its front end in the water. Rescuers searched the van and surroundings and found that the driver had left the scene. The vehicle was removed by a towing company and the police are still investigating.

At 20:00hrs, we got a call for a motor vehicle collision with people trapped. Engine 202 arrived first and reported that one vehicle was involved with one patient. The vehicle was in a small ravine and the driver got out of the car and climbed back to the road. The patient was treated and the scene was secured. One firefighter assisted EMS in transporting the patient to the hospital.

Engine 202 got a call for an alarm sounding in a house. Upon arrival, they were informed that the owner was working in the attic and shorted out the detector.

• Oct 12th – Fire call(MVC)
Rescue 502 got called for a motor vehicle collision backing station#11. The call was at the corner of Harwood and St-Charles. It turned out to be in Dorion’s district and R502 was cleared by command.
• Oct 12th – Fire call(Flood call)
Rescue 502 and Tanker 302 responded to a call for a flooded basement. The basement had about 3-4 feet of water. The crews pumped out the basement and advised the owner to have the sump-pump verified. The 2 vehicles cleared about 2 hours later.

• Oct 13th – Fire call(Grass fire)
Tanker 302 responded to a small grass fire near a school. The fire was controlled before we got there and T302 used class “A” foam to finish the job.

• Oct 16th – Fire call(Smoke inside a house)
Engine 202 and Rescue 502 got a call for light smoke in a house. E202 arrived first and found that the smoke came from baseboard heaters installed earlier that day. Both vehicles cleared within 30mins.

• Oct 21st – Fire call(Smoke inside a house)
All vehicles responded to a house for smoke coming from the microwave. The cause was a plastic plate that caught fire inside the appliance. The thermal imaging camera was used to verify the kitchen walls and nothing was found.

• Oct 22nd – Fire call(Residential Co alarm)
Rescue 502 responded for a carbon monoxide call. The house was verified and no readings were detected.
• Oct 22nd – Fire call(Smoke visible)
Engine 202 responded to investigate a possible fire in a walking path. On arrival we found news papers and 2 camping size propane tanks on fire on a wooden bridge. The fire was extinguished and E202 cleared shortly after.

• Oct 29th – Fire call(Flood call)
Rescue 502 responded to a flooded basement caused by a malfunctioning sump pump. The basement was pumped out and the owner had the pump replaced.
• Oct 29th – Fire call(Tree on wires)
Engine 202 and Rescue 502 responded to a tree that had fallen on wires. The scene was secured and Hydro was called. Both vehicles cleared within 15mins.
• Oct 29th – Fire call(Tree on wires)
Shortly after, E202 and R502 responded to another call for a smoldering tree. The scene was secured and both vehicles were cleared 20 mins. later.
• Oct 29th – Medical call
• Oct 29th – Fire call(Tree down)
About 4hrs later, the engine got called out for another tree call. The tree was about to fall on a house. The scene was secured and a tree service company was contacted.
• Oct 29th – Fire call(Tree down)
Later that evening, E202 and R502 responded to another tree down. Again the scene was secured and both vehicles cleared within 30 mins.
